Hello, this is Akiko Iwasa, owner of Peace.

It saddens me to announce that I have decided to hand over the ownership of Peace at the end of this year so that I can focus on raising my child in Tokyo. For this reason, Peace will be closed after December 29th. I thank everyone for their support and guidance throughout these five and a half years, and am proud to have been able to spread the ideals of vegetarianism during this period.

Fortunately, I have found someone to continue spreading the ideals of vegetarianism at the same location, as a new vegan restaurant will be opening in mid-February 2008. The official name has not been decided, but will likely continue under the name Peace. Please give the new owners and staff a warm welcome when the new restaurant opens..

The current staff of Peace have also decided to go their own way, and we wish them luck on their new journey. Although I will be busy with my child, I plan to continue spreading the ideals of vegetarianism in Tokyo and Kyoto, using cafepeace.com for these activities going forward. I also plan to continue to organize the Vegetarian Festival, and hope this will give me an opportunity to see everyone for years to come. In advertising the festival, we plan to use this mailing list, but if you wish to be removed, please let us know. Additionally, www.vegetarianfestival.jp will continue to be used.
